HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT WATER PRESSURE LOSS IN YOUR BATHROOM

People look forward to taking a shower after a long, stressful and exhausting day as it helps freshen up and reduces stress and pains. However, a shower without adequate water pressure is no good. If the pressure of water during shower reduces, it does not feel good and it certainly does not fulfill the partial purpose of taking a shower, that is, to reduce stress and aches. One must look out for possible reasons that might reduce the water pressure to address them timely by finding a solution.

Here are some possible reasons for reduction in water pressure in bathroom:

Press Regulator:
Always watch out for the press regulator. It is a valve that ensures that the pressure of water is under control and does not damage the pipes. It is always located near the point from where the main water line enters the house. In case there is a problem with press regulator, there is a higher chance that other fixtures and fittings in the house will not function properly as well because it damages all the water pipes. Listen for a hammering-like sound coming from the walls, that is the sign that press regulator is not functioning properly. In such scenario, always call for professional help. Press regulators come in different brands and sizes, therefore, a professional will be able to guide you and help find a solution.

Water Heater:
Water heaters can also be responsible for reduced water pressure in the house. If the water pressure problem only occurs while using hot water than most likely the water heater is the culprit. There are two ways of addressing water heater problems. Firstly, take a look at the shut-off valve. Sometimes it is partially closed, therefore, turning it on can resolve the problem at once. If the shut-off valve is already open, something else you could do is call in a professional who is trained and specialized to fix water heaters. A water heater must be checked thoroughly from its insides to outer area to find out the exact problem.

Clogged Aerator:
Sometimes the clogged aerators can also reduce water pressure, this usually happens if only one faucet has reduced water pressure. In such scenario, that faucet needs to be cleaned thoroughly, it can be done so by removing the nozzle and washing it with vinegar and water. Once the faucet is cleaned properly, the water pressure is back to normal. Always keep the faucets clean and look out if any fixture is out of order. Sometimes thorough cleaning will resolve problem and professional help may not be necessary.

Pipe Leak
Leakages happen all the time in any household, at times there are pipe leaks that are not visible to people living in the house. Pipe leaks are major causes of reduced water pressure. Check all the pipes in case of loss in water pressure and call for professional help in case of a leaked pipe. They can either fix the same pipe or replace it with a new pipe and the water pressure will be back.

All in all, in order to avoid loss in water pressure it is important to keep an eye on the all the fixtures and fittings in the house and get them cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis; also be vigilant if even slight loss in pressure is felt. Cleaning can be done by an individual or by a professional as well. It is better to hire help to clean up pipes and fixtures and have a schedule for it, so it is not missed out.
